Following the incredible success of our first two photo challenges, we are thrilled to announce the return of our fungi inspired adventure, Ffwng 3. The challenge will run from October 1st to November 30th, 2025, and we cannot wait to see the creativity and curiosity this year will bring.

Our community has amazed us every year with the passion, imagination, and sheer beauty of the submissions. From tiny mushrooms hiding in the undergrowth to spectacular fungi found on autumn walks, every photo has celebrated both the magic of nature and the joy of slowing down to notice the details. This third edition promises to be just as exciting, if not more so.

Prizes

The winning photographer will be rewarded with a £50 voucher to use in our online store, a Wildbarc Camera Strap, a Wildbarc key-ring and your photo will feature on the cover of the printed Ffwng 3 Zine, along with a copy of the zine itself.

All other photographers selected for inclusion in the zine will receive a £10 voucher and a copy of the zine.

Most importantly, we hope you enjoy the fun of heading outside, taking notice of the little things, and sharing your discoveries. The challenge is for everyone, no fancy camera required.

Our Chosen Non-Profit

This year, all profits from Ffwng 3 will be donated to Brecon Mountain Rescue. Entirely staffed by volunteers, Brecon Mountain Rescue responds to call outs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. From helping lost walkers and injured climbers, to assisting in floods, road accidents, and missing person searches, their work covers a huge area of South and Mid Wales. They rely entirely on donations to continue this lifesaving service, and we are proud to support their efforts through this year’s challenge.

How to Enter

To take part, simply post your fungi photographs on Instagram with the hashtag #ffwng2025

Please keep a high-resolution copy ready in case your photo is chosen for the zine. We may ask for some additional details such as the type of mushroom, month photographed and location the photo was taken.

Need to Knows

1. Submissions close on 30th November 2025.
2. All photos must be portrait, not landscape.
3. Ensure images are high-resolution for print quality.
4. All submissions must be your own work.
5. You can enter as many times as you like.
6. If your Instagram account is private, we will not be able to see your entry.
7. Photos must be posted on your Instagram grid using the hashtag #ffwng2025
8. By posting, you agree to us sharing your photo across our social media (always credited).
9. Winners will be contacted by Wildbarc only from our official instagram account. Do not give any information to anyone else who may contact you as this may be a scam. If you are unsure please contact us before engaging with any account or person posing as Wildbarc.

Magazine Release Date

Entrants selected for the zine will be notified a few weeks after the challenge ends. The zine will launch at the beginning of 2026. All prizes will be submitted to the winning entrants when the zine is ready to be shipped.
