Tregaron is a small, old market town in the heart of Ceredigion, West Wales. It sits on the edge of the beautiful Cambrian Mountains, making it a calm and lovely place to explore the area's stunning landscapes. The town is by the River Brenig and is close to the large Tregaron Bog (Cors Caron), a nature reserve full of wildlife. This quiet spot adds to Tregaron's charm, giving visitors a chance to enjoy the beauty of Wales' natural surroundings. Tregaron has a rich history as an important medieval market town and a gathering place for drovers who moved cattle from Wales to markets in England. It was also a cultural hub in Welsh history, with strong connections to Welsh traditions and the bardic Eisteddfod. One of its most well-known residents was Henry Richard, a 19th-century politician called the "Apostle of Peace."
